Really enjoying Charles Lloyd's "Figure in Blue" from this year. Not bad for an 87 year old. Here's opener Abide With Me.

Free boops today.

I was getting ready to go to bed tonight and I was just flipping through the channels and the Miles concert from Milan in 64 had just started..I stayed up and my wife went to bed...I dont think Ron Carter or Herbie Hancock fingers ever stopped moving

I almost missed Okonski's "Entrance Music" (released February '25).
Pretty sure I'll be lost in this for the rest of the year.

2025 "Entrance Music"

2023 "Magnolia"

I've been listening to the recent Vijay Iyer / Wadada Leo Smith album. I really loved their previous collaboration A Cosmic Rhythm With Every Stroke and this one occupies a similar space. Very abstract and evocative. I don't even know whether to call it jazz.

Big fan of Vijay and really liked Cosmic Rhythm, but somehow this one passed me by. Will check it out this week!
