Like I said, there's been a lot of injured/missing personnel that it's tough to gauge. Once Von and (presumably) Champ come back by the Indy game, we'll get a better idea. Not sure how long (if at all) Woodyard and Harris could be out, but if they are that will hurt. In Harris's case, you could immediately tell that he was seeing stars when he got hit, so I'm worried that it's a concussion that could take a while to recover.E.H. Because it is one thing to throw up 50 on the Cowboys' D which isn't very good, but what about later on, in the postseason against better defenses?

Really? That game was a classic "whoever has the ball last wins" type of game. Unless it went into overtime, and then it would have been decided by the coinflip.doug rr wrote:as frustrated as I was yesterday regarding the defense I have to admit I was never worried about losing the game

yep it was a weird feeling that I've never really had watching the broncos for 40 years..Green Habit wrote:Really? That game was a classic "whoever has the ball last wins" type of game. Re: Denver Broncos
Given that it was a "track meet" type of game, I can't put too much stock in their defensive performance, but I'd be lying if I said it didn't concern me. Similar to how that INT overshadowed Romo's amazing game, it also overshadowed Denver's pathetic showing on defense. I know they were missing some guys, but especially towards the end of the game it seemed like they missed a lot of assignments. The middle of the field was repeatedly wide open, the corners kept getting burned, and they didn't get very consistent pressure on Romo.Green Habit wrote:Like I said, there's been a lot of injured/missing personnel that it's tough to gauge. Up to this point they've been solid, and 1 game is probably not enough to sound the alarms, but their defensive gaffes reminded me way too much of the Baltimore game. Fortunately their offense can put up points at a downright terrifying rate.
Now, what would Oscar Winner® Michael Caine do?

We need a high school coach or something to remind our punt returners not to try to return it from inside the 10. Welker did the same thing week 1.

Worst half of Broncos football since the first half against Atlanta last year. They look absolutely rattled.

They beat themselves tonight. Stupid penalties, Ronnie EFFING Hillman, and am I the only one wondering why they went for two when they did? All credit to the Colts. Their D showed up big time, but this game was frustrating. Undisciplined football.

Ronnie Hillman looks like a blown pick. It's hard to play running back in the NFL if you can't block OR hold onto the football.

I hate to take anything away from Indy because they are looking more and more like a legit contender, but Denver did an awful lot to lose that game. It was one stupid mistake after another.

To pile on, Robert Mathis made it clear that Clady > Clark.
I wouldn't be so bummed out by this loss if wasn't for the fact that the freaking Chiefs keep winning. It's really going to suck if the Broncos have an excellent record but get stuck with the #5 seed. That's a rule that I've long said needs to change.
(And yes, I know what happened in the 1997 season. It would be sweet if history repeated itself there, but I don't want to have to count on that.)

In all honesty, I'd almost prefer the Chiefs to win the division. Maybe I'm crazy, but bye weeks scare me in the playoffs. I'd rather see them play with some hunger in a Wildcard game and build some momentum.Green Habit wrote:To pile on, Robert Mathis made it clear that Clady > Clark.

I don't want Manning's calls at the LOS to be muddled in the playoffs at Arrowhead.clavian wrote:In all honesty, I'd almost prefer the Chiefs to win the division.
