When I worked for Blizzard, we were all so hopeful about Microsoft buying us and freeing us from the tyrannous yoke of Activision. How little we knew...

The whole Microsoft Azure system going offline on the afternoon of the release of one of their biggest titles of the year is, uh, unfortunate.

Phil Spencer is out. Not surprising, but the exit is Sarah Bond is surprising.

Being replaced by a woman with an AI background who has probably never played a video game in her life.

Pretty sure they are just gonna kill off x-box and make it some ai slop monstrosity.

The next machine (probably shouldn’t even call it a console) will probably prioritize streaming games over everything else. Bleak stuff.

It will prioritize an open platform. I’ve got the handheld and having Steam, Epic, and Xbox all available on one device is great for someone who doesn’t want build a PC. Epic and Steam will be on the next xbox.

That being said, putting an AI chief in charge doesn’t inspire confidence, even if she’s saying the right stuff.
