Yeah it’s definitely not as limiting. And the video Spenno shared of the dude’s drum track does make it clear the drums are the worst offender.

Its interesting that I went to see Bernard Fanning and Paul Dempsey the other night, 2 of the best voices Australia has to offer (imo), both also from that general era, and my major complaint was how loud the drums were in the mix and how low their actual voices were. I appreciate live is a different beast but I had the same general feeling about it.
