I've recently been listening to very little music. Kind of a musical fast, if you will. Over the last few days I started listening again and now it seems to hit harder. I should take a break more often.

Have you ever done a musical detox?

I think Eric Clapton is a better singer than a guitar player. I find his middle of the road 70's rock to be oddly comforting.

I was a fan of his political rants, but I was shocked and appalled when I heard his music

Where does Oasis rank amongst the greatest reunions in rock music history?

Most reunions are terrible, so I'd say pretty high up. But I don't think they have a great album in them.

As far as rock music, is it last one to make an impact on popular culture?

The Oasis reunion tour might be the last impactful moment that rock music has on popular culture. I’m not even sure it was that impactful. I hope I’m wrong.

Everything runs in cycles. It may seem that way today, but it also kind of felt that way in the late 90s when boy and girl groups basically took over.

Music (and all other forms of art) are so diffused and plentiful across society that I don't think anything can really impact culture the way it used to, except for gelatinous beige mediocrity like Taylor Swift, which doesn't so much impact culture as reflect it. And that's not to mention AI.

Swift immediately came to mind. She's got a choke hold on the beige bitches and it's locked in deep.

Sadly, future deaths of rock music icons will impact popular culture more than any new music from the genre.
