Yeah man. Steve Earle was a big one growing up. I recently got way into Guitar Town and I started to realize I’ve heard these songs so much, I was 3 when it came out I think.

Steve Earle is very hit or miss for me but when he hits it’s as good as anything.

I can agree with that. Except that guitar town album is actually perfect.Matters wrote:Steve Earle is very hit or miss for me but when he hits it’s as good as anything.

Breaking up the Best County Album Grammy into two categories -- Contemporary and Traditional -- is fucking embarrassing.

Johnny Cash wasn't mentioned nor Townes Van Zandt but perhaps they don't have to be at this point. Later era guy I really enjoy is (was) Jimmy LaFave.
Eh, aren't the Grammy Awards embarrassing in general?epilogue wrote:Breaking up the Best Count[r]y Album Grammy into two categories -- Contemporary and Traditional -- is fucking embarrassing.

Re: Country Music
I think it's fine. It's similar to the division they have for pop. The optics of doing it right after Beyonce won are bad but I think the split makes sense. Hopefully it gives more artists a chance to win an award in a genre that is pretty hard to get to the top in

Re: Country Music
It's always been a messy genre.
I love it though.
Kacey Musgraves and maybe Midland are always on heavy rotation for me.

We saw him when he was supporting that album. Suzy Boggiss opened for him and she was fantastic. Her Outbound Plane is still one of my favorites.

Suzy Boggiss opened for Dwight Yoakam at one of the first concerts I remember going to. I didn’t even know what a Pearl Jam was yet.wease wrote:You got to have an ace in the hole.Teeeeeekay wrote:Ordered George Strait’s If You Ain’t Lovin’ last night.

Right on. Saw Dwight open for Bocephus. He was touring behind Hillbilly Deluxe. Went out and bought that and his first album the next day.Matters wrote:Suzy Boggiss opened for Dwight Yoakam at one of the first concerts I remember going to. Re: Country Music
Fuck me, this album... It's so old school. I can't remember another new album that sounds so old (in the best way). This thing is pure Hank Williams. Kinda can't believe it.
