Wow, I didn’t know they were giving out a Best Story award. If so, Raleigh did get robbed!
Maybe if Cal was more charismatic, he could have won Entertainer of the Year instead of Vladdy

It’s not the best hitter award. Isn’t that the Hank Aaron award?
Cal is also a top tier everyday catcher. He was the most valuable player to his team. And the best story.

Too bad for Raleigh. Feels like he’ll never have another season close to that.

I read this on the internet so it must be true.

AL Central and AL East voters were split between Raleigh and Judge. It was the AL West votes, specifically from the two markets in Texas, that swung it to Judge.

Jealous much??

Before two days ago, all I really knew about Dylan Cease was that he was considered to be one of the top free agent starting pitchers on the market.

Now that the Jays went out and got him, all I'm hearing about him is that he sucks.

Cease is a workhorse (32 or 33 starts in each of the last 5 seasons—I can’t think of a pitcher who’s been as reliable in the same time span), and he strikes a lot of guys out, but he walks a lot of dudes—even in his best season with a 6.4 pitcher bWAR that led the AL he also led the majors in BB. If he somehow got that down he would probably rise to another level and truly be a stopper/potential front-line starter. But he’s certainly being paid like a #1 now, for good or for ill.

The Crochett contract looks better and better by the day btw

Can’t imagine how much teams didn’t like Murakami that he went to CWS of all places for 2/$34m. But it might just be the kind of place where he won’t feel pressure and can ease into the bigs.

And still only be 28 when he enters free agency again, maybe could cash in big time

Better than going to an American League team I suppose, but yeah, that sucks.

I would have loved for him to play alongside his best bud Vladdy for years to come (preferably at second base). Reports are saying he's going to play third base? lol good luck with that, Mets.

I don’t want a salary cap in baseball because even though the Dodgers spend way more than other teams and keep winning and it’s frustrating, the Mets spend way more money than almost everyone and don’t win and it’s hilarious.
