Badlands kicked ass! I liked but didn't love Prey and thus came into this with medium expectations. Happy to say they were exceeded.

If I have any criticisms, it was 5% too "cute," and the lack of the Predator theme (unless I missed it) is inexcusable.

We, as a society, should have absolutely zero tolerance for any cuteness whatsoever in a motherfucking Predator movie.

Spoiler: show
Me and the random girl next to me in the theater clapped our hands in delight when the legs started walking.

When they first showed the male synths with their faces out of focus or obscured, I thought they were gonna turn out to be David clones.

I saw someone pretty accurately describe Elle Fanning's character as a cross between C-3PO and Donkey from Shrek.

I've only seen the first Predator movie, so I'm by no means a Predator purist, but the cuteness didn't bother me. These creatures are so silly looking to begin with, that adding some fun and lightness to the proceedings made sense as far as I'm concerned.

One thought I had while watching this movie - how do these creatures kiss? Or maybe they don't? Maybe they just get right down to business.

probably the closest analogue, given the mandibles, is spiders; they don't kiss but they do do a silly mating dancy dance

Late to the party, but Killer of Killers is really fucking good. The visual style is so bizarre, it almost feels amateurish at times, but it is strangely... charming? Like they took a massive punt here and I think it worked.

Some of the kills are insanely brutal and with the added weightiness of the sound design, it's a really good time.

Wasn't there an animated one that came out like a month ago? Or am I imagining that?

Yeah, it's got an edge to it that Badlands doesn't really have. I loved Badlands but I miss the "hard R" tone of the first two movies (and Predators).

The part near the start where they find the soldiers skinned and strung up freaked me the fuck out when I was 8 years old lmao. Brutal.
