The Running Man (2025)

Post by Ensign9 »

Like Predator: Badlands, this was a ton of fun. Really funny; good performances; and some great action.

Only one disappointment:
Spoiler: show
You’ve gotta have Arnold show up in a post-credits scene as the President.

Went and saw this solo last night killing time while my wife had a girl's night out. It was the perfect movie for that context. Entertaining, big dumb explosions, great camera work. Topical social commentary in the age of reality TV and ICE. Truman show meets Fight Club?

Michael Cera and William H. Macy had some great cameos.

Left the theater kind of paranoid that I was being followed for a minute. It's that kind of movie.

I don't see this one winning any awards, but I'd watch it again on streaming with some Chinese takeout.
Spoiler: show
Cera's origin story monologue was perfectly delivered. Only he could somehow spin a melodramatic tale about the importance of a hotdog cart.
