Tried Portillo's for the first time today. A location opened in my area.

No disrespect to the Chicago boarders, but it was fine. Nothing mind-blowing. Dipping fries in the giardinara sauce was the best part. That stuff is addicting.

I'd imagine you have to be in the city for the OG experience.

Yeah tbh I never went to Portillo’s for their Italian beef. It was always hot dogs and burgers

It definitely wasn't a bad experience. Maybe just an example of loss of quality when scaled. If I'm ever in Chicago I'll seek out the original location.

Also, I'll go back to this Houston location for a dog per LV's recc.
