Lorwyn Eclipsed looks like it’ll be right up your alley.
I like that since I don’t play paper Magic, I can avoid buying a UB set if I’m not into it collection-wise. I skipped Assassin’s Creed and Final Fantasy, and I’ll skip Avatar too. However, I do think it’s bogus that UB sets are going to outnumber in-universe sets next year.

These are the kind of cards I remember my older cousins bringing to Thanksgiving in the 90s.

I have a couple of cards that can remove those, so I’ll stick it out if I have a good position.

When you remove one, they just play another one!

I know. It’s rats all over again. Or Nazgûl (but at least there was a limit of 9 in those decks [and for transparency’s sake, I must disclose that I played a Nazgûl deck when it was legal in Standard]).

You play a lot of red, right? Mowing cards down is kind of your thing. My poor greens can't deal with that kind of loop, but I'll give it a go with some of my red blue decks.

Okay, I did some crafting and I'm now ready for the hares.

I think the saga alone can work pretty well against a wide board, but I also have a new commander that can fish some other cool stuff out from the sea.

Doing reasonably well with this deck so far in brawl. I had a ton of wild cards to work with.

Honestly loving this Avatar set on Arena right now. I've crafted a formidable Earthbending (convert lands to creatures) deck that's got a decent winrate so far.

Do I open or hold the 2 final fantasy play boosters I found in the store?

You know what's a cool card? Turtle-Duck.
As a one drop it blocks more than decently and I only need 3 mana a turn to get it stomping?

Those 0/4 creatures who aren't defenders can also be helpful in the early stages of a game if you have "If you attacked this turn..." triggers like Raid, since you can send them against opponents who have weak early creatures and they won't get destroyed, but you'll still get the trigger. Like just two examples:

Anyway, I'm seeing restocks of FF boosters making their way onto shelves. Plenty to go around.

On that note, I now own the Terra and the Cloud precon commander decks. Best Buy had them for $29 each.
You know what I did today? Played three solo rounds of brawl with myself across my kitchen table. Lame? Maybe. Before you judge, consider that people play Solitaire with regular playing cards all the time. I was getting a feel for paper magic and these deck mechanics because I'm never going to make it to a LGS for a real round of commander.
The Cloud deck won all three times. Terra takes a while to get online and Cloud auto-equips things like the 10/10 Colossus Hammer.
