LV, what are your thoughts on the 2002 epic Reign of Fire?

Haven't seen it since it came out! I'd be curious to revisit. Is it cool?

LV, I often see you complain about music being "sleepy" when you're talking about ballads or stuff that's on the softer side. Do you ever enjoy anything that's not energetic or even mid-tempo?

If I remember correctly, it flopped, but it has Matt McConaghey, Christian Bale, and Gerard Butler fighting dragons in a future apocolyptic hellscape. I watched it the other day and it reminded me of the type of movie that we used to live post about here on RM. There will be no middle ground though, you'll either love it or hate it.LoathedVermin72 wrote:Haven't seen it since it came out! I'd be curious to revisit. Is it cool?

Oh and I love it, even though I'm not a McConaghey fan.

It's true that - as I've gotten older - I definitely have found myself gravitating more toward music that is energetic and/or aggressive. I used to have far more patience for and interest in "sleepy" music as a teenager, but there isn't all that much of it in my listening these days. However, that is not to say that there isn't any at all, because there is. Some of it is holdovers from my teen listening (like Broken Social Scene), but there are new songs that get through to me from time to time, as well (BigMama's "Veleno" is one of my favorite songs in recent years, for example).Jorge wrote:LV, I often see you complain about music being "sleepy" when you're talking about ballads or stuff that's on the softer side.
