Hilarious joking aside, I did think it was very good. You should watch it, VG.

i guess i will eventually maybe? im not that interested on another Franky movie to be honest. And Del Toro is not a favorite at all, so it might take a while to actually happen.

I’m watching A Woman Under the Influence and it’s probably the best film I’ve seen this year that includes a scene of a man getting his three under-10 children drunk.

We got a handful in a short period.
And we still have The Bride in the chamber for 2026.
That one looks awesome imo.

I remember the book being devastating, don’t know if I could handle the movie. There’s one specific line in the book that always hit me:
Spoiler: show
I dunno how it’s portrayed in the movie, but the main character picks up a dead body and reflects on the fact that it’s the first time he’s touched another person in years. It’s a tossed-off line and just reflects the bleakness of the story in miniature.
If you liked Train Dreams (either the novel or movie), you could also read Johnson’s “The Name of the World,” another short book that aims to fuck you up with reflections on grief.

Why would anyone choose to spell it Denis instead of Dennis, it’s so close to Penis. Esp if your last name is Johnson. No wonder his books are depressing.

I think it’s probably the French spelling, any frogs around here can correct me.

I still think about this movie every day (not to mention the train dreams I've been having at night)

It's definitely making my top-whatever year-end list.

Watched Eternity yesterday. I enjoyed myself well enough. It's not a strictly bad movie but it's got a lot of big issues. Because it's a romantic comedy, I still had a good time. I'm just a sucker for the genre, even when it's not executed particularly well.

I wouldn't recommend it to anyone here that isn't a full sap and rom-com addict.
