Daft is right. DM is a resurgence. A damn good one but still a resurgence.

Have not been able to get the Scared of Fear bridge out of my head for more than a week now.

Not a complaint.

I love pretty much everything about that track. As far as openers go, it's among the best.

Both Stone and Mike have standout moments on it, which is a major opening statement in and of itself.

Listened to DM recently. I like to think almost the whole album is about Matt leaving the band.

interesting, at :20 or so, you can see 'mighty humble' was listed as its own track between stevie and running on the back cover art.

I saw a video the band posted, some kind of recap of the Dark Matter sessions, marketing and tour and at the end, in the final show of that tour they are all clearly saying goodbye to Matt, so yes they knew about his departure at the time of the tour.

Working out with a few teachers at school during our planning period. The music was good and diverse. I took a chance and threw Dark Matter on. The difference in sound quality was embarrassing. Why did this happen to such an amazing album?!

Im blasting the album, first time in a while.

I noticed Mike´s guitar in the verses of DM a lot more and i love what he is doing.

These two comments mean something to me together. The quality of songwriting and musicianship on this album is startlingly good to me, especially all the Mike parts. If I were simply rating what the members of Pearl Jam brought to the table, I would give this album the highest grades possible. However, the quality of sound production, specifically the "loudness" issue, is completely counterproductive and makes me want to hear something like Gigaton more at times.
