Tom Stoppard.

This sucks. What a tremendous mind and talent. I'm so glad I got to experience his work. He's a huge influence on me and my own writing and has done a lot to inform my tastes. He wrote one of my wife's all time favorite plays. We used to spend all might reading and discussing his work when we were first dating back in college.

Kinda heartbroken, honestly.

Steve “The Colonel” Cropper died yesterday. Glad I at least got to see him sit in with PJ back in ‘94.

Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa

When I was but a small child I was part of a Dragon Ball fan mailing list (!!) created by a Belgian woman who made amateur fan films parodying various pop culture properties. She was rich and did it for fun I guess, this was back before YouTube.

One of the things she did was a parody of Mortal Kombat called Mortal FIght (hilarious) and she actually hired Cary to "reprise" his role as Shang Tsung. Kinda cool that he was down to do that

There isn't a generic birthday thread so this was the closest thing.
