It's definitely one of the best Martha albums of the year

Just got one of my favs jazz albums from argentina, Jorge Lopez Ruiz´s B.A. Jazz from 1961, in vinyl. This is a great reissue from 2024, sounds very very good.

Dude got an amazing ensamble with Argentina´s best from Gato Barbieri to Lopez Furst and the amazing Pichi Mazzei.

I listened to The Weather Report over the last couple of days because I missed it on the Essential Albums thread and was in the mood for jazz music. It’s quite good, but not at the level of In a Silent Way that was promised. But it’s still really good.

I had a very strong phase of The Weather Report as a kid, mostly because my dad loved them along with his love for Jaco.

Its been a while so im about to jump right back, also with Jaco´s solo albums.

In my continued in the mood for jazz so mini break from the albums thread, I listened to The Quintet - Jazz at Massey Hall, and Thelonious Monk - Monk’s Dream - both are absolute musts and bummed I didn’t catch them in the albums thread. In the midst of Charles Mingus Presents Charles Mingus, which will be the last album before I go back to my day job.

Listening to Bill Frisell's Harmony today after a long time away. Not sure it counts as a jazz album exactly but man is it gorgeous

This is from a CD I found in the used bin last weekend. The saxophone isn't always my favorite instrument but when it's played this way, I get lost in the bars. So good.
