Left Broome with my son on Friday, just arrived in Perth 2,500kms later this fine Sunday night. Really enjoyed the road trip with him. Nice father son time. His car ran beautifully but blowing a tyre on the boat trailer wasn't much fun. The middle of Australia is hot as fucking fuck. I am now relaxing at home drinking many beers.

i took my first lengthy outdoor bike ride in months bc i had been healing from a shoulder injury, and later a lot of back pain

managed to crank through about 15 miles

felt great

45 degrees here and a 20 mph wind but I just bundled up and went for it

have some new AirPods 4 and there are some elements to the sound quality that are def better than the previous version

was giving Evil Empire a spin and could hear some subtle accent percussion congas in 1-2 tracks that had not noticed before

worked up a monster sweat

being healthy makes such a big difference

I know you mean “inspiration” as in sparking ideas or whatever, but I like to imagine that you spent a week filing pics with captions like NEVER GIVE UP and THE JOURNEY OF A THOUSAND MILES STARTS WITH A SINGLE STEP.

After reading this post at 630am I got up and done my equivalent exercise activity rather than continue to roll around in bed being lame. I didn’t listen to evil empire congas though

15 miles in 20mph wind sounds like a pretty solid workout. Did you do a loop? Did you enjoy a tailwind at any point?

was a westerly wind, so had it at my back (flying) on the way out - then was riding north-south along the beachfront for the bulk of the ride, so wind was hitting from the side. the ride back was entirely into the wind. a true test of the quads. caught a massive gust going over a bridge almost had me stopped upright :haha:

Sounds like a sick bike ride, 96.

I would kill for +7 of course. The other day I was playing hockey and it was -23 and I was just skating laps trying to warm up so I could play but the cold defeated me and I gave up in less than an hour. My face was burning from the windchill. Like it was actively painful.

Having a fucking bummer of a day, friends

Just checked my mom into the hospital. She's been feeling ill and tired for a couple weeks but she thought it was just Covid or something. Some blood tests came back alarming and now they're gonna stabilize her and then figure out what exactly it is.

I'm scared and sad. Just want her to be okay

It really is the most horrible feeling

And also I locked myself out of my apartment

That was also a bad feeling. Less bad, but bad still
