Jane’s Addiction announced they’re disbanding on December 17th. Now this!

He seems like a good, interesting choice? (I know very little about Jane's Addiction)

Jerome Turner can drum for a session or two. This is all his fault anyway.

There's also this earlier post from about a week ago:

"What a good memory playing with Pearl Jam at the @theohanafest

Keep on rocking in the free world"

I don't think this necessarily means he's the new drummer - but if he is, I think he'd be a great choice.

Dare I say, might be a pretty good kick in the pants!

his style seems somewhere between Matt and Jack Irons, with a good handle on pace, not rushing the songs; not as technical as I'd like but I don't think PJ has been concerned about that for a long time - he has my vote

Perkins is one of my favorite drummers from all times, and Janes is a beloved band for Stone, Jeff and Ed so i could make sense. He is also doing new music with Dave Navarro and Eric, so who knows really whats happening.

My reactions to the Stephen Perkins chatter:

1) It's so speculative. Really almost zero to go on other than circumstantial crumbs.

2) It feels like Klinghoffer is the default if they don't find anyone, so as a Jane's fan I would be over the moon if we got Perkins instead.

3) Even if Stephen Perkins becomes PJ's new drummer, I"m probably more excited about Deconstruction V2 (this time with Stephen Perkins) than I am about that. Granted, he could add a really interesting spice to their rhythm section.
