Thats a good documentary...there is a new one on HBO, pretty good too. Dont remember the name...they have good films, but a lot of them cover the same ground. Even Being Mick was cool.
Fuck i saw this band twice in 1998 with Bob Dylan...they were amazing. Hope i can see them again soon.

I do like this song, yes, very muchdarth_vedder wrote:Posted this song on the old board, not sure how many saw it / listened to it.
It's one of my personal favorite songs ever, and certainly ranks as a top Stones song for me.

You know you're a stones fan when "torn & frayed" ends and your mind starts playing "sweet black angel"

Voodoo, Bridges, and Bigger Bang are an interesting trilogy. You can see Mick's obsession with being "current" fight it out with Keith's soil-splattered soul in the first two, while the rise of garage rock mentality (and his increasing fixation on himself as a celebrity first) seem to have allowed Keith to take a greater role in the feel and sound of Bang. Combine the three, and you get an interesting look into just what the two glimmer twins bring to the mix and how it makes them so different.

i dont think Voodoo has a current sound for its time...maybe what i like so much about the record is the fact that don was pushed them to make a classic rolling stones record, and they achieve that.McParadigm wrote:Voodoo, Bridges, and Bigger Bang are an interesting trilogy. its not a the rolling stones grunge record at all...is fucking great.
i do feel that with the other two, never quite listened to a bigger bang, but yeah Bridges has that quality specially in the production.

Oh, yeah, there are definitely different shades going on. Voodoo is very much a conflict record. You can't take the obsession with looking modern out of Mick, and you can see some of that in how the record and tour were promoted as well as some of what he brought to the sessions as a performer. But to have a producer (who Mick disliked, by the way) pushing for this other thing gives it a whole other twist that you don't get on Bridges.

So, if you could only pick one Stones album to listen to for the rest of time, which one would it be? I know it's a stupid question, just... come on.

I'm going to be captain obvious here and say Exile. Partly because it has the most songs. But...Sticky Fingers is pretty much a perfect album. One of those two. Fine, Sticky Fingers. Moonlight Mile ftw.durdencommatyler wrote:So, if you could only pick one Stones album to listen to for the rest of time, which one would it be? I know it's a stupid question, just... come on.
