The US toppling foreign regimes is anything but unprecedented (Lumumba, Gaddafi, Hussein, Mossadegh, meddling in multiple Ukrainian elections dating back to at least the Orange Revolution, not to mention failed attempts like the Bay of Pigs and intervening in the Russian Civil War against the Bolsheviks). For sure, but I was thinking that normally they kill the guy and the detention part is unique here.
