Blue Prince

Post by Ensign9 »

I have no idea how close I am / have come to finishing this yet. It is great so far. The less said, the better, other than it's a puzzle game.

It's on Xbox GamePass.

It's downloaded (through PS Plus), but I haven't played it yet. Heard nothing but good things.

I started it but I need to sit down with a notebook to actually play this.

I've played about 50 hours, "completed" the game, and am starting to become a bit tired of the RNG element while I'm doing endgame stuff, so I probably won't end up fully finishing the game.

I had to create a probably-more-complicated-than-it-needs-to-be spreadsheet for it.

Spreadsheets and notebooks... I'm intrigued...

I've been able to streamline it a bit but I def recommend taking the spreadsheet approach.

I started (and still use) a notebook where I've jotted down random bits of information and developments but the bulk of the content I need to keep track of goes into the sheet.

I've also got a Word doc with a growing library of screenshots.

The RNG aspect of the game does get a little frustrating at times -- you'll get to the point where you know exactly what you have to do to progress but can't because X hasn't appeared.

You haven't lived until you've drafted 13 aquariums in a single run.

This game keeps finding ways to make my head explode (in a good way).

Once I get my handheld, I'm finally going to dig into this game. I did about 10 runs when it came out but didn't really know what I was doing.

I did three runs today and already feel like I’m behind because I haven’t written anything down. Well, I jotted down the solution to the darts puzzle, that’s it, but I feel like I’ve glanced at so much without processing it that I’m going to have to redo so many rooms and really focus on what’s in there.

Reminds me a BIT of Shadowgate, which was one of my favorite NES games.

You will definitely need to start writing stuff down / capturing screenshots if you want to get the most out of the game (and trust me, you DO want to get the most out of it because it's amazing).

Yeah I started a Google doc, it’s going well but I’ve got lots of pictures to add to the document.

I’m on Day 12 and I just unlocked…
Spoiler: show
The apple orchard! It’s one of my big wins so far, after exploring the dark room I was sure that there were hidden messages in the photos, so when I came across the magnifying glass a few days later, I put it in the cloak room knowing that the next time the combo of dark room-cloak room-utility room came up that I’d be able to check out the small text. I had been running out of steps a bunch in the past few runs, so I think it’s gonna be a big boost.

I got into

The basement today. I’ve also been in the catacombs. Feel like I’m making real progress.

Reached Room 46 today! What a great time this game has been. The final run, everything just fell into place perfectly, it felt like every time I needed a specific room, it was there, and every time I needed a resource, I could find it, and I had set myself up well the couple of days before that I could fly through the last few bits.

I still have plenty to do in the game, I think there are literally dozens of puzzles I still haven’t solved, I haven’t counted the rooms I’ve yet to discover but I’m sure it’s a bunch, I know there are items I don’t yet have, there are even keys I haven’t used! I will probably poke around for a bit but feel good with what I’ve accomplished.
