I often think about a playoff game in 1977 between the broncos and the steelers...bradshaw vs Morton..red miller vs Chuck Noll...it happened to be the day I went goose hunting with a friend and his dad..I would have been 11 years old...we had a transistor radio in a corn field listening to the game while waiting for geese...I actually shot a goose and I cried..my friend brad ran to get it and it was still alive and struggling and he grabbed it and swung it around by its neck..last time I ever hunted..

Do coaches’ salaries fall under the salary cap at all or is that JUST the players?

they are not

and usually get paid a fraction of the players too

kind of baffling given how important their role is

They don't fall under the salary cap, but their contracts are treated the same as players. So if Harbaugh had a few years left on his contract with the Ravens, the Giants would pay that salary back to the Ravens or negotiate a buyout.

Does that apply if a coach is fired? Isn't there language that says if he gets another job, then the Ravens don't owe him the rest of what he's due?
In Tomlin's situation, the Steelers would definitely be compensated because he stepped down and they still hold his rights, but I think it might be different when a guy is let go?

i dont know his numbers with either Baltimore or NYG but for arguments sake

He still has 2 years on his contract at 15 mill per year
He signs a 5 year contract with NYG for 12 million per year

the first two years of his NYG contract baltimore is on the hook for the difference of 3 mill
