Hey tree_, my son was invited to a birthday party at a rock gym today and so I had a chance to be up there on the auto belays for a bit. Great morning full of climbing amongst the future generation of Honnalds.

Rewatched the El Cap climb doc. Geezes, i still get tingly in my toes watching.
Ill definitely be watching this next climb. He's been trying to get at this for like 15 years now.

Shit scares the hell out of me. I'm fine with heights over water. I used to cliff jump into rivers from ~30+ ft. as a kid. But I can never get used to watching this sort of thing.

I experience the call of the void in high places; observation deck of the Bass Pro pyramid in Memphis was the latest time. There were a few moments where he stopped on a landing or at the top where I felt that funny feeling again. What an amazing accomplishment by this insane man

Re: Free Soloing
The only thing I know about this sport is that it’s crazy. Crazy difficult. Crazy dangerous. Crazy.
This particular climb being relatively easy compared to rock faces with minimal holds - correct? Cool looking spectacle, but for this particular guy with this particular skill and experience, a walk in the park?
