The Resident Evil 2 and 4 remakes are must plays.daft twat wrote:This is awesome. I tried to make 2025 a real video game comeback year, and I did well for 8 months, but I haven’t touched a game since school started in September. Here’s my 2025 in order I played/beat them:CopperTom wrote:In 2025, I beat 40 games across 21 consoles.
- Spoiler: show
1 Last of Us 2 (Xmas vacation 2024)
2 Red Dead Redemption 2
3 Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
4 God of War
5 Indiana Jones - This was my favorite game I played this year.
6-10 The Uncharted Series
11 GTA V
12 Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
13-15 Tomb Raider 2013 and beyond trilogy
16 Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound
My must play list for 2026 is smaller. I currently own copies of Ghosts of Tsushima, GoW: Ragnarok, Witcher 3, and Hogwarts. And I’ll do the Indiana dlc. Those are the priorities. I might add Cyberpunk or fully immerse myself in the Resident Evil series. We’ll see. Glad to be catching up on some iconic titles. I sure hope a new Mario game is announced this year.

I’ve sunk 8 hours into Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth and I just love Yakuza games. Stories are absurd and side stuff is endless. Ichiban is a fantastic character too.

Hogwarts Legacy is really fun. Put about 25 hours in so far and I'm hooked.

I was thinking about playing this soon too. I bought it for Saturn when it was first released, but I never beat it. Which system are you playing it on?coptheriotact wrote:Tomb raider (1996)

These games have held up really well. The platforming just feels satisfying to execute.coptheriotact wrote:Tomb raider (1996)

Was trying to come up with something to play and I settled on Shadow of Mordor—I know I’m over a decade late on this one, and it certainly shows its age in some ways, but I am really loving the world so far.

This is fun, I think I’m about halfway through, but it’s a little disappointing that there’s all of these collectibles to get and there’s no real reward for them. I expected some sort of buff towards the endgame once I’ve explored everywhere, but it was just a trophy. Womp womp.Simple Torture wrote:Was trying to come up with something to play and I settled on Shadow of Mordor—I know I’m over a decade late on this one, and it certainly shows its age in some ways, but I am really loving the world so far.

Looking forward to that open world LOTR game they're working on. Hopefully it's good.

I think it could work if it's not trying to tell a story from the books with familiar characters. Or just pick up a minor character from the Silmarillion and go wild with it.LoathedVermin72 wrote:Looking forward to that open world LOTR game they're working on. Hopefully it's good.

I imagine they're probably using Hogwarts Legacy as a template, hahaMonkey_Driven wrote:I think it could work if it's not trying to tell a story from the books with familiar characters. My next game is going to be Divinity: Original Sin. BG3 is the only Larian game I’ve ever played so I’m excited to get back into their style.

Re: What are you playing?
Not enjoying Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora nearly as much as I'd hoped. All of the annoying minutiae of an RPG (crafting, gathering, cooking uggghhhh fuck off) but none of the actually fun RPG stuff (dialogue options, moral choices, etc.). I'm only a couple hours in but it's a slog. Also very unintuitive, with convoluted menu interfaces, awkward controls (especially in the heat of battle), unclear instructions on where I'm supposed to go and what I'm supposed to do, etc. Disappointing.

Beyond continuing with Like a dragon: Infinite Wealth, been playing smaller games like Cult of the Lamb, The Seance of Blake Manor, and Ninja Garden: Ragebound. Really enjoying all three.
Also, Star Wars Outlaws and Death Stranding got added to Gamepass so may check them out.

Re: What are you playing?
I’m having fun with this, I was surprised by how different than the tone is than BG3. Many of the systems are similar but you can see how nearly everything was more polished in the later game. The one thing that’s sort of driving me nuts is the level scaling—I feel like I’m nearly through every quest I can complete in the initial areas of the first town, but I’m still not leveled up enough to take on most enemies out in the wild. I’m going to try and upgrade nearly all of my gear and see how that goes, but it feels like I’ve hit a soft wall for now.Simple Torture wrote:My next game is going to be Divinity: Original Sin. Re: What are you playing?
Think I’ve got a hold of D:OS’s difficulty curve; there’s always something available that I can achieve with my current level/abilities/gear, it’s sometimes just a matter of finding where that thing is on the map. It’s quite well designed in that way. It’s tough enough that I’ve had to do some combat situations 2-3 times before coming up with a strategy (and getting lucky at times). I never really used an archer in BG3 but my archer has become the backbone of my team and I’m hearing her up constantly to make sure she can take control of the battlefield each time. Lots of fun.

Just played the demo for REPLACED. Game is definitely my jam. A mix of Inside with some Arkham combat. Can’t wait for it next month.
Also, miss the days when consoles would get demos. Glad Steam gets a few.

Re: What are you playing?
I had never played Disco Elysium until recently when a redditor described his experience of his detective finding some old documents and had such a low headspace he had a heart attack and died, so I decided I needed to play this game. I thought it was great and really leaned into its world and feeling. I think I nailed most of what I would’ve hoped to on my first completion. Although my first play-through ended in 15 minutes after dying trying to smash open a door
