Debut album from Shaking Hand came out last week - the Slint and SY comps make sense, and they sound terrific for a three piece.

Probably not many Mitski fans here (her last record was spectacular, you should look it up) and this new track from her upcoming album likely won't appeal to most of OB but it's a pretty fun tune.

washing machine heart comes on our restaurant playlist pretty often. Been meaning to hear more. This album's probably where I'll dig in. Cool song.

Been on the Mitski train for a decade now, but The Land Is Inhospitable was one of my least favorites of hers -- too much of that drowsy pedal-steel sound (some of those songs really pop in their live arrangements on her excellent concert film, though). I love this new song and I’m glad she’s going back to a scrappier sound. There’s enough weirdness in it to keep it very Mitski

I used to bump the shit out of Hang Ups and Stomping Ground when I was 12. Fun band.
Front-loaded album. Some nice additions to the catalog. Then there was a song that sounded like Sugar Ray, which I don’t mind at all, but then some dude was rapping - again I don’t mind - but he dropped the n-word, and it took me out. It’s a Goldfinger album. I don’t want slurs.

Been enjoying Ari Lennox´s new album, Vacancy.

It also spiraled a more conscious listen to the other stuff she did.

I was drawn to Victoryland while browsing the front pages of bandcamp. Vocals have that general indie flavor, but the looped arrangements and pop melodies are where this shines. What piqued my interest most was the description of the process. I see this landing that coveted drive-time listening block between kindergarten drop off and work.
bandcamp wrote:Landing somewhere between lo-fi and hi-fi production, the songs have the glossiness of a radio-friendly hit mixed with the distortion and rough edges of a home demo. Every song keeps at least one element of the initial recording, while building around the loops and half-songs Julian scrapped together.

This is a January 2026 single for a record that came out on Bandcamp in 2024 and was re-released late 2025. Great record and terrific song.
