Re: 2025 NFL Season
this is the first full superbowl ive watched and maybe 3rd nfl game?
(monday mornings, im at work usually)
i enjoyed it, i can appreciate a good defense, and some of the rules and intricacies of the game started to click with me
the halftime show was excellent, a powerful statement.
i do have a low tolerance for ads these days, but i knew what i was getting myself into.

My favorite ads were Dunkin and Jurassic Park. Nostalgia much?

Why don’t they play the SB at one of these massive 90,000+ seat college stadiums?

Hi Bammer, Siri here. it seems you are confusedBammer wrote:Hey Siri, who owns Levi’s Stadium?spike wrote:Because an NFL owner doesn’t own one.Bammer wrote:Why don’t they play the SB at one of these massive 90,000+ seat college stadiums?
Yes, the owners of the San Francisco 49ers receive significant revenue from Levi's Stadium, though the structure is a public-private partnership where they share some profits with the city of Santa Clara.
The 49ers operate the stadium through a subsidiary (Forty Niners Stadium Management Company) and hold a 40-year lease, allowing them to keep all revenue from NFL games.
Here are the key details regarding how the 49ers ownership benefits financially from Levi's Stadium:
NFL Game Revenue: The 49ers keep the vast majority of revenue generated from 49ers home games.
Stadium Management: A 49ers-affiliated company (Forty Niners Stadium Management Company LLC) manages non-NFL events (concerts, soccer, etc.) and they share the profits with the Santa Clara Stadium Authority.
Luxury Suite Sales: The 49ers retain revenues from the sale of luxury suites.
Seat Licenses: The team generated over $300 million from the sale of Stadium Builders Licenses (PSLs) before the stadium even opened.
Naming Rights: The 20-year, $220 million naming rights deal with Levi Strauss & Co. is shared, with the 49ers and the City/Stadium Authority both receiving portions.
Tax Benefits: The public-private partnership structure allows the 49ers to avoid certain taxes on income generated from the stadium, representing an estimated $106–$213 million in tax savings over 20 years.
While the team pays roughly $24.5 million in annual rent to the City of Santa Clara's Stadium Authority, the revenue they generate from managing the stadium and hosting events significantly outweighs this expense.

Re: 2025 NFL Season
What do the Seahawks have in common this season with the Bucs, Browns, Falcons, Vikings, Giants, Raiders, Commanders, and Lions?

Re: 2025 NFL Season
Thanks, Peeps. I hope Bammer didn’t really think the city of Santa Clara and its residents got all that luxury suite money.
The Milwaukee Brewers have a similar setup. State owns the park and leases it to the team. Team generates way more income than they pay to lease the land and stadium. Taxpayers are on the hook for stadium improvements too.

Re: 2025 NFL Season
Hey Siri, does the host team make the profit on the super bowl or does the NFL make the profit from ticket and suite sales?
