Argo, is it possible to get memberships to libraries across the nation (for Libby purposes?)

Probably nothing nationwide/in any other state. But as a New York State resident, you can get access to the Libby catalogues of a lot of library systems with an e-card. Definitely NYPL and Queens and Brooklyn (but my Brooklyn card expired and I wasn't able to renew it so maybe that has changed. Maybe even some upstate systems.

Worth a google

Thanks for the information. I may look into it via Google.

My problem is this: there is a book that's on my Libby queue but projected hold is 2 months from now.

I could go to a free epub site, of course, but that feels unethical and would also be ironic considering the particular title I'm after.

Oh shit, sorry, I don't know why I thought my fellow New York Stater epilogue asked that question. We can only pray large Texas library systems have a similar set-up. Seems unlikely, though

this might not solve your problem, but I think you can pay a yearly fee to an out of state library system for access to their library.

might be worth a shot, and at least alleviate the guilt of borrowing for “free.”

I appreciate it, everyone. Also, how could I forget project gutenberg? Doesn't solve every problem, but if anybody wants to catch up on the classics there's public domain epubs for the taking.

have you heard of a TexShare card?

seems like that would be what you’re looking for.

Yes!

I have heard of that and it was a motivation for my OP. (Houston has a pretty sweet library system all-around. Plenty of perks.)

Really just looking to

A. Ignite an Argo-centric library chat on RM
B. Get access to the prestigious e-stacks from NYC and Boston.
