I think Ill be announced with new tour dates. Maybe they will do some shows later this year. Ohana and some more..

As much as I want to, I don't see Josh Freese stepping in... I saw him with NIN the other night (infuckingcredible) and while I love him as a player, unless he's looking for a quiet retirement gig, Pearl Jam is not his next stop. Perkins makes the most sense to me given where he is in his career and his style.
yeah, both Perkins and Chamberlain would be a great fit. Im also starting to think it will be a slightly younger and lesser known drummer.

I'm kind of more interested in an unknown drummer, I'd like to think (probably naively) that there are more surprises and new musical avenues to go down with someone we'd never expect

I'm guessing the new drummer is announced in January/February 2027 along with tour dates scheduled throughout that year.

I bet they tour one more time and then do a new album in 2028 or so.

From a publicity stand point it makes perfect sense. Their carrot is mystery and suspense, and their stick is Eddie's million dollar penis.

I have a feeling it won't be a permanent thing. Like if they announce another tour they'll say something like, "and joining us for this tour is drummer xxx"

A female drummer would be cool. Apparently Kahokiss is playing her last show with Otoboke Beaver on the same day Eddie plays Kyoto.

Why wouldn’t they just have Josh K driving the rhythm?

Cause Josh K is not a very good drummer? Adequate at best.

But hey, thats how he got the job in the Peppers too. Being a touring musician first.

I would be very disapointed if they indeed went for Josh (also because if the accident..)

Agreed.

Leaving aside the vehicular manslaughter and his broadly unpleasant vibe, he's not a very good drummer.

The accident is a dumb reason for considering anything. People who make horrible mistakes in their lives still have friends and family that love them.

As a person who has no idea what makes a drummer good, I have no opinion on Klinghoffer as drummer.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?
