the following thought keeps running through my head:

a huge part of Trump's support came from people who wanted to fight abuse against kids

like that is what Qanon was about above all else

and who could argue with that

but Trump a likely sex offended co-opted the movement

now you can't blame people for making a mistake and getting conned

but why can't they admit to themselves, okay I wanted to fight against pedophilia but I accidentally put my trust in a pedophile to lead the movement...

like that would be a hard pill for anyone to swallow, especially because lots of the people who were passionate were probably abused themselves

but I don't see why some people can't admit their mistake(and I'm not talking about the people who never really gave a fuck in the first place)

But also it's kinda interesting because it shows just how easy it is to get conned... like people are stupid... and probably most people can't even intuitively distinguish an evil person when they meet one...

I think I am pretty good at telling a person's character but honestly I have totally fucked this up a few times even recently

Ironic that the only reason we are talking about the Epstein files is because of Trump voters, even though Trump himself is one of the prime Epstein rapist boys. while Democrat voters were happy to ignore it for over a decade until now.

or that is just how your mind perceives it. most democratic people know that the investigation was on going and there wasnt much any DOJ could do legally to release the files. it was only once all the trials were exhausted (appeals and such) that anyone could rightly demand their release

I think QAnon was mostly always about people with miserable lives sublimating their misery (and their Christian puritanism) into scapegoating/obsessing over an elite conspiracy. They don't actually care about kids.

Possibly but I also think the most miserable people would be the same people vulnerable to being abused so maybe some people came by the cause honestly. And then yeah, I think the proletariat always tends to be the most religious people too. It doesn't necessarily make sense but it's how it goes.

There are people misinterpreting this as him talking about the US. From the context, he’s talking about other countries. Like “I can’t place a tariff on other countries, but I can destroy them.” I mean it’s still fucking nuts, but that’s what he’s talking about.
