we’re looking at flying to Portland, OR in the summer, then driving up to Vancouver, stopping in Seattle to visit our friends who live there.

Since TSA was a benefit we actually had to pay for, are they going to refund our money?

Well, now they seem to have reversed it.
Noem had said it was part of the shutdown and they didn’t have the resources to fund it.

It’s all political grandstanding to make people hate the Dems. “Their” gov shutdown is going to make your travel experience even worse.
Perhaps the adults in the room actually won out here if it’s being reversed.

Sounds like the MAGA geniuses worked out that TSA and Global Entry are funded by their membership fees, not the federal government.

Is Iceland Express still operating? I bet Bruce Dickinson’s Iron Maiden plane could get you up and around that snow.

we’re passing on Vancouver for now, but only for budgetary reasons. gonna stick with Portland, wine country, and maybe a day or two in Seattle.

Global Entry being shut down could make my 1h45m connection in LA pretty dang tight. I’ve downloaded the MPC app which can help expedite immigration, so I’ll look for that line.
