DVDs are great tech (I still own about 800 of them). As are BDs (and about 2500 of those). But I have been hopelessly addicted to UHD for a decade and will continue to be so.

Yeah but unless you live near one of the few theaters in the world that specializes in film projection, there's not much you can do to see it anymore so what are you gonna do? (And even then, there are almost no movies being made via an end-to-end photochemical process anymore anyway, so pretty much a moot point.)

I tried watching PTA's Inherent Vice for the first time a few days ago.

I thought it was awful and bailed after about 20 minutes.

I might've felt different had I not read the book first, who knows.

I was surprised that it wasn't more gruesome. Don't get me wrong, he fucking goes there! But I expected it to be sort of over the top and relentless. But the movie is kinda quit, a character study. And I thought that was cool.

yeah, he seems restrained in the gore aspect but its been like this for a long time. His work in the Ash Vs Evil Dead series is the last time he actually had fun with that.

But i loved a lot of scenes, specially the airplane scene. And i loved Rachel McAdams here.

I think I read somewhere that she prefers to be a part time actor.
