Tomahawk tix secured. So excited. All things considered, this would probably be my top choice for any Patton project to see live. Plus Melvins opening? Come on

I enjoy all Patton's projects to some degree but FNM was definitely my preference for a live show, never thought it would happen. Then the Second Coming Tour was announced and it was an absolute "can not miss" priority... goddamn that was a long time ago too.

Tomahawk is cool but FNM and Bungle clear that one easily.

Meh, I like FNM and Bungle but Mondo Cane, Tomahawk, and Fantomas are my elite Patton projects for sure. I don’t feel any need to see the former two live.

Oh man Mondo Cane is incredible, loved that one and literally hope he selects that to finish out.LoathedVermin72 wrote:Meh, I like FNM and Bungle but Mondo Cane, Tomahawk, and Fantomas are my elite Patton projects for sure. I don’t feel any need to see the former two live.
Being his project I guess it could happen at any time... so there's hope.

Got Phish at MSG for 7/24. Concert schedule now appears to be Warren Haynes Band (next Friday) March, Springsteen May, Goose June, TOTO/Christopher Cross and Phish July. 3 of the 5 shows will be at MSG. Been a while since I spent that much time there.

Iron & Wine tonight, will be good to reconnect with his live work. Haven't seen him since he toured here in the early 2000s with The Shins.

Re: Upcoming concerts
First show in 18 months - out of retirement and this was a fitting restart. Warren Haynes has an incredible set of musicians with him for this. The Allman mini suite of Soulshine and Dreams to start the second set was spectacular, as was a 15 minute jazz jam in the first set. Throw a little Steely Dan and closing with with all the feels with U2’s One was awesome. And damn if he isn’t one of the finest guitarists I have seen live.
Setlist:
Set One - Intro > Man in Motion, This Life As We Know It, Spots of Time, Banks of the Deep End, Terrified, From A Whisper to a Scream (Allen Touissaint), Instrumental Illness (Allman Brothers Band), It’s My Own Fault (John Lee Hooker), What Is Hip (Tower of Power), I’ve Been Working (Van Morrison)
Set Two - Soulshine (Allman Brothers Band), Dreams (Allman Brothers Band), These Changes, Thorazine Shuffle, Tear Me Down, Real Real Love, Pretzel Logic (Steely Dan), Invisible
Encore - Beautifully Broken, One (U2)

Hell yeah. The bass player is also in Gov’t Mule now. (If it’s the same one.) We saw Warren’s solo band a year or so ago and it was one of the most enjoyable shows I’ve been to. As you say, his band is top notch and Warren is one of the most badass players around. Glad you had a good time.

Even just looking at the setlist you can see the versatility of this band - it’s like an all star tour of classic rock, jazz, prog, blues and southern rock.wease wrote:Hell yeah. Awesome. It's been so long since I've seen Gov't Mule play - shit maybe approaching 20 years. I have seen Warren since then with the Allmans, and in 2023 he sat it for a few songs with Tedeschi Trucks Band at a show I was at.

I saw Govt Mule maybe 2018? In my own opinion on these experiences, Warren Haynes Band was better even if I knew way more Govt Mule songs in advance.Captain Termite wrote:Awesome.
