Re: Talk about your day thread
when we arrived we filled the cupboards and fridge with about 6 weeks of stuff for the trip...instead of throwing a lot of it away I've been tossing breads and nuts from 3rd floor into streets for the pigeons...its quite entertaining..the packaged madeleines are by far their favorites

Im back at my place, i went to the cinema yesterday and when i came out it was pouring rain. Like crazy. Come home, the power was out so i stayed a bit with my laptop and went to bed.VinylGuy wrote:Been living at my moms for the last two weeks because she went to the south to see my sister. Ive been here taking care of Pepa, our dog and the house and i love it here, but im also so fucking ready to go back to my place.
Missed little Pepa a lot, but also my mom told me she woke up at 6.30, as she usually does, so i might sleep a bit better i guess.

Re: Talk about your day thread
I have my alarm set for 3:40am
I cant recall the last time I woke up to it. Im usually up at 3:30 with Bogey staring at me waiting for me to get up. He then lays with his upper torso on my chest and turns his head towards me and gives me kisses non-stop. he gets side rubs and head rubs and chin scratches in return. when I start to get up out of bed he immediately runs down to the bottom of my bed and up my back and takes my spot before I am even gone.
After getting ready to leave the house I put his noise collar on (its a buzzing one not a shocking one) and his harness vest. When that last snap happens he jumps up on his hind legs and gives me kisses again. I ask (already know the answer) if he wants to go outside. He leaps from my bed and we head downstairs.
I get him his doggy vitamin and 3 mini-milk bones for our walk. Out the door and up the street. He examines all the footsteps and pee marks in the snow. We get to the next street and hang a right down to the dog poop trash can. He makes a deposit usually within 5 feet of the can that I then dispose of. Tell him let's go home as we retrace our steps.
The truck is warmed up thanks to remote start and I leave about 4:15am for my commute.
I absolutely love my mornings

If I had to set my alarm for 3:40am every day I would quickly be taking a bullet train to the void if you know what I mean

Same. I'd even feel the same if I had a commute longer than 15-20 minutes.LoathedVermin72 wrote:If I had to set my alarm for 3:40am every day I would quickly be taking a bullet train to the void if you know what I mean

Re: Talk about your day thread
after about 5 years of anxiety and probably even slight depression due to my health (mostly heart related) I am feeling close to where i was mentally before the issue. so that means getting back in shape after adding some lbs back from what i had lost.
this means going to the gym before work. its about a 30 minute commute to the big city and the gym opens at 5am. by the time i catch the train to the gym it is right around 510. work starts about 730-8am. if it is 730 then i take a 1 hour relaxation at lunch in our wellness room where i shut the lights off and just listen to music and let my food digest

I'm glad you found something that works for you, Peeps. Getting down basic routines like that is so important. I've got my sleep stuff mostly nailed down, but I try to work out three times a week, and that is still a struggle since I'm often burned out by stress

Thanks pal, turns out she had to stop the prescribed opioids during my journey over, so she’s feeling the surgery incision pain more now than she was.doug rr wrote:hope all is well, spike...we now have 4 full days left in Paris to pack on the pounds...tonight is our body weight in moules frites..
Enjoy your last days in Paris. Don’t get gout.

At least I can stay at her condo and not reek of cig smoke now. I still bought a scented candle for my bedroom though.

I cannot fall asleep to save my life. I started drinking whiskey to fall asleep. I haven’t had a drink all month and I’m right back to tossing and turning. I’ve had a headache probably half the days this month because I’m sleep deprived. I can’t believe how shitty I have felt since I stopped drinking.LoathedVermin72 wrote:I'm glad you found something that works for you, Peeps. Getting down basic routines like that is so important. Have you ever been to therapy? A few years ago, I was having insomnia problems that made me feel like I was losing my mind, and my dad has always had major sleep issues. I knew that was not a life I wanted to live so I dealt with it through therapy and it actually worked - my sleep is generally consistent now. (As part of that, my therapist suggested no sugar or caffeine after a set time in the evening and starting every morning with pushups first thing. I’ve stuck to those and they’ve continued to work.)daft twat wrote:I cannot fall asleep to save my life. I started drinking whiskey to fall asleep. my neighbors came over to talk about their fallen tree branch
their son knows a fence guy and a tree guy
they are gonna take down the whole tree, clean up the branches, and fix the fence
super nice people

I haven’t. I have one cup of mushroom coffee at 5:30 in the morning and then no more caffeine all day. Sugar is an issue tho. I need to cut that.LoathedVermin72 wrote:Have you ever been to therapy? Re: Talk about your day thread
Air pressure light came on the drive to work, this morning. Changed the dash to display pressure values. 35 is normal and we started at 31, down to 22 before I got to a gas station with air.
Swiped my card for $3 worth of air and went to top off only to find the end of their nozzle was destroyed. Probably by a plow after all this fucking snow. While I tried I found the nail easily because it was hissing like a pissed off snake. Couple miles to the next one; anxiety building.
Make it without riding on the rim and top off. Now I'm in unfamiliar territory and maps isn't bringing up any good options for tire shops. Back down to 22, 21, 20...and there's a Goodyear. Just opened and I'm first in line. Phew.
Most expensive plug I've ever paid for at $55 and my hands are still shaking after drinking a cup of whatever was in that coffee pot. Today is gonna be a great day.
