Re: Talk about your day thread
I was gonna just put the spare on after the failed air stop, but the jack is held in place with an allen bolt. I didn't have an allen wrench on hand and there wasn't one in the rim lock package or anywhere else. wtf

When my car got totaled recently, I didn't think to remove the fancy jack I bought before it was towed. When I went to the tow lot to retrieve possessions from the car, someone had taken it already. RIP fancy jack

I guess, but I've been driving and changing tires for over 35 years. Never seen a jack secured with an allen bolt.tree_ wrote:gotta be prepared, broSelf wrote:I was gonna just put the spare on after the failed air stop, but the jack is held in place with an allen bolt. Maybe I'll get a fancy jack instead.

It could've been much worse. Now you know to have an allen wrench. No big deal.Self wrote:I probably deserve itdoug rr wrote:sorry Justin..

Oops I think that was motor oil.Self wrote:Air pressure light came on the drive to work, this morning. Changed the dash to display pressure values. 35 is normal and we started at 31, down to 22 before I got to a gas station with air.
Swiped my card for $3 worth of air and went to top off only to find the end of their nozzle was destroyed. Probably by a plow after all this fucking snow. While I tried I found the nail easily because it was hissing like a pissed off snake. Couple miles to the next one; anxiety building.
Make it without riding on the rim and top off. Now I'm in unfamiliar territory and maps isn't bringing up any good options for tire shops. Back down to 22, 21, 20...and there's a Goodyear. Just opened and I'm first in line. Phew.
Most expensive plug I've ever paid for at $55 and my hands are still shaking after drinking a cup of whatever was in that coffee pot. Today is gonna be a great day.

Re: Talk about your day thread
Two pals stopped by last night so I ended up crushing five beers on my second night of jet lag (historically always the worst). Oops.
I was up til midnight staring at the ceiling, then again from 2-4:30am. My alarm went off at 9am. Hanging in there but pretty exhausted, no grog tonight. Maybe one if we go over to my sister’s for tacos.

You guys have to pay to put air in your tyres?Self wrote:Air pressure light came on the drive to work, this morning. Changed the dash to display pressure values. 35 is normal and we started at 31, down to 22 before I got to a gas station with air.

Some places still have free ones, but most of them these days cost a bit.

Used to be like a quarter or two, but I too paid $3 for air yesterday to fill my mom’s tires.
But there is no inflation according to last night’s SOTU.

Buying an electric tire inflator was a game changer. Never have to deal with those godawful gas station ones again.

Woke up early and had a great work meeting with a guy. Felt revitalized after a while.
Then worked more and just watch some games from the Champions. Ill stay home tonight after two days of going to the movies at night.
