It’s not as good as Downton, but it scratches that itch for me.epilogue wrote:It's such a weird show. But I enjoy so much about. Definitely soapy but beautiful people being sexy and great sets/lighting (until this season, which honestly looks weird). I have no shame about watching Bridgerton. Hot people banging on ladders to string quartet versions of pop songs? Yes please!VinylGuy wrote:hahahaha
Bridgerton.
I love how race and sexual orientation are non-issues, but class is everything, and fat-shaming is alive and well.

Will you watch Young Sherlock then?Rangi Guy wrote:I'll admit to having watched Bridgerton. I didn't see the end of the last season - my wife could tell I wasn't enjoying it much - so finished it off without me. This season I told her I'd watch as long as we could watch Mobland together as well. I REALLY enjoyed MoblandVinylGuy wrote:im happy you have a show thats enjoyable!! yeah, i saw a trailer for this season in the movies and it looked awful. Damon Lindelof and Kyle Chandler. I have zero doubts. This is going to be fantastic.wease wrote:I have mixed feelings about this.VinylGuy wrote:FUCK YEAHHHHH![]()

Re: What are you currently watching on TV?
No, not that. Hal’s acting more like Guy Gardner. Yeah, he’s supposed to be cocky, but not an absolute asshole. I can get behind him being older. I guess my main issue is you have these space cops, and they even talk about others in the trailer, and they use these characters to tell a story that could also be the latest episode of Tracker. Put these fuckers in space and let them solve some mystery out there, not rural America.VinylGuy wrote:how so? you dont like we havent seen the Lanterns in suit?wease wrote:I have mixed feelings about this.VinylGuy wrote:FUCK YEAHHHHH![]()

Re: What are you currently watching on TV?
There is an inherent optimism to Green Lantern that is at odds with this True Detective comp nonsense but its modern TV 101 to make characters assholes and then chill them out towards the end so they have a easy arc to plot out. Lazy. Tom King is involved so I'm sure the Green Lanterns have done some horrible shit that they are ashamed of. Tom loves destroying characters to workout his personal CIA demons.

Nothing lazier than citing "lazy" as criticism.

Re: What are you currently watching on TV?
He is raising interesting points, specially with King being involved. I can see this Hal Jordan being something he brought to the table.
I still feel this looks great and i actually like that Hal and John Stewart are after something that seems small but im sure it wont be.

Re: What are you currently watching on TV?
Exactly. He (we all) can make good points without resorting to "lazy" which is meaningless and, well, lazy.
I'm not invested in the Lantern Lore, so I'll defer to those that know way more about it. None of that stuff interests or concerns me, though. The source material is irrelevant to me (sorry wease!).
Chandler rules! And what Lindelof gave us with Watchmen was outstanding and remarkable. I just can't fine any reason to doubt this project. Not yet. We'll see what happens when episodes start dropping. But right now, I'm fucking pumped!

one of those points being Hal as a jaded asshole to then save the world and complete an arc could be seen as pretty lazy, yes.

Joe has two lazy fall backs when he realizes he's wrong but can't bring himself to admit it. "I was just kidding" or "sigh"...actually he does the eye roll emoji thing too so three. It's cute. Hopefully three examples of a lazy response is sufficient.

Just once I want to see someone I can relate to: a jaded asshole who has a heart of gold with no arc whatsoever

I know. We’ve had the debates before. I will add that Green Lantern is top 5 hero for me. Hell, probably top 4.epilogue wrote:I'm not invested in the Lantern Lore, so I'll defer to those that know way more about it. None of that stuff interests or concerns me, though.
