We won’t get to watch until next. Week. Since we stream, we have to wait until next day to watch and Mrs Wease and Weaseling are going out of town tomorrow and won’t be back until Monday.

Ugh, I couldn’t finish it last night. I’m not watching Survivor for 3 straight hours

I know it's only episode 1 but that felt a little too conventional to me. Make all of them go solo for 48 hours! Let feral hogs loose on the island!

My wife and I took the last three or four seasons off so I dont know any of the newbies. The choice of cast members is pretty good but no Boston Rob (he declined), Rupert (wasn't asked, inexplicably), or Sandra is Strange. Hantz would be a no brainer had he not gone off the deep end.

Way too long of a first episode. And I really don't like Rizzo.

I couldn't disagree more with both points!

Returnee seasons always get so personal and dramatic. We're seeing it already.

The length was fine, but I agree about Rizzo. Didn’t like him last season, don’t like him this one. Our youngest was astounded at how badass Ozzy was. She started watching after his earlier appearances and had never seen him before. Quite possibly the greatest to ever play. Good to see Joe back.

Ozzy is so overrated. He's a challenge beast, but a mediocre strategic player.

Rizzo is clearly very likeable on his tribe. I work with college aged students and I see a lot of similarities between him and my students. There's a naivety that come across as cocky, but it's just sort of how they can be. He's clearly a sweet, charming kid that loves people and his family.

You’re right. Ozzy is a challenge beast and has no social game. But I don’t think he’s overrated. I think most people would agree about his strategery. He even says as much in his solo bits.

The thing that irks me about Rizzo and some other players like him is when they refer to themselves as superfans. Dude, if you are regularly watching Survivor in season 48, and you apply, you are a superfan. There aren't "casual" people applying to be on this.

Christian was absolutely the MVP of that episode (crapping his pants, "Joetation", the fall).

I hated that they made this part of the show. Fucking humiliating. Give the guy a break. That was a real low point for the cameraman who followed him as he begged them not to and the producers for including it in the show as he proclaimed his wife would divorce him. Sure, he was joking, but that was fucked up.

I know it is because of the fan involvement, but so far this season isn't digging in and showing a lot of development. All of this moving around so early is a little chaotic. I get that it is the point, but makes it less interesting to me. That being said, the person that went home this week got a little too cocky.

There is so much pre-gaming for returnee seasons. I wonder if the early tribe swap is an effort to break that up a bit.
