I’ve seen her (Jessie Buckley) in 10 films (and a couple of tv series), Beast, Wild Rose, Judy, The Courier, I’m Thinking of Ending Things, The Lost Daughter, Men, Women Talking, Fingernails and Wicked Little Letters. I think she’s been excellent throughout. Beast and Wild Rose is a fantastic start to a top career, and still some of her best work. Look forward to The Bride! and Hamnet.

Counterpoint: Kill Bill
Joe hates Tarantino more than he loves strong, blonde women.
Sad.

Re: What movies are you watching?
I watched war machine this weekend
i thought they really wasted Jai Courtney in this release
the design of the enemy just looked weird
Alan Ritchson was born to play a soldier but I have a feeling he is going to be typecast in that vein. Watching Blue Mountain State and he is absolutely hysterical in it. I remember him as Aquaman in Smallville and then as Hawk in Teen Titans. But Reacher is where he is at his most brilliant
the fact that they used little to no CGI for the stunts is insane and coupled with the fact they let Alan do the river scene is just mind boggling.
overall I give it a 6.5-7 out of 10

Thought they might briefly superimpose Trump’s face over Goering’s at the end of Nuremberg.

The Moment.
I had fun with a few things, and i liked the overall aesthetic of it, but its not a good movie, mostly because it fails to be funny. She is not a good actress and the cast should have been better.

I rewatched last night. It runs a bit long but it's also right up my alley.Buby wrote:Finally watched The Secret Agent.
What a fun movie.
Lexical and phonetic similarities between Portuguese and Spanish help a lot, subtitles are not 100% needed all the time.
