Re: Anyone else here watch F1 racing?
props to George
amazing that Ferrari pit stop strategy shoots themselves in the foot again. just asinine not to pit during the VSC
that said, Mercedes still prob would have come back and taken first
not certain about kimi's ability to get past hamilton though
i thought the battery stuff / constant overtake battling was super cool
the idea of a Ferrari v. Mercedes grudge match up front every race would be pretty awesome
and you know at some point McLaren and Red Bull figure it out and get into the mix
excited to see Ferrari's start speed advantage work. that is a really cool phenomenon. i am sure others will work on copying
overall a great first race i think. just can't get over the sour feeling of ferrari not pitting. was just so stupid. you could hear Hamilton asking like 'why not split strategies at least?' ... Ferrari seems really bad at adjusting to pit stops on the fly ... Red Bull seemed to always to do that really well, by contrast ... Ferrari always wants to stick to their boomer plan
but glad to see some juice again
also hilarious how bad Aston martin is doing. I like their owner but he is a big blowhard and i find it funny how they can't even field a car for more than 20 laps notwithstanding all his bravado

Re: Anyone else here watch F1 racing?
Lawson had car issues at the start. Having your rookie team-mate finish ahead of you and score points in his first race has got to sting a little. I know you're not a fan of him, but he's had some shitty luck.
The Ferrari/Merc battle was super entertaining indeed. Long may it continue.
Aston Martin is pure comedy. Everyone memes on Lance but the dude is straight up hilarious. I love his interviews. He fucking hates the media circus and doesn't even try to hide it.

Re: Anyone else here watch F1 racing?
Lawson has had some bad luck, and being swapped out after two races last year was raw. he def bore the brunt of the decline of Christian Horner era.
it's funny how yuki is gone (everywhere)... red bull doesn't use honda anymore so why bother. seems pretty clear it was just pandering to the japanese
Fred V. gotta make sure they get some wins. Feels a little hot-seatty if the car looks good but Hamilton starts to bitch about strategy (and people agree)

Cool to see Lewis outperforming Charles for once.
Hoping Hulk can sneak into the points.

Re: Anyone else here watch F1 racing?
exciting sprint race
nice to see Hamilton in the mix again
mercedes clearly has the superior car
anticipating more LeClerc v. Lewis friction all season
have to wonder what happens when Ferrari's race start advantage erodes
maybe Aston Martin and Cadillac should race in F2 until their issues are sorted out
