Your Shit Is Apart: The Disco Elysium and Disco-Like Thread

Post by Simple Torture »

Things are really getting rolling in the Disco-like world. The demo for ZA/UM's next game, Zero Parades, is now available on Steam. I played about five minutes of it but realized I'd rather wait for the full game. Even in those few minutes, it's very clearly built right on top of the Disco Elysium model, and I'll give it a shot when it comes out.

I've heard good things about Esoteric Ebb, which is out as of last week; I've got it installed on my PC, just looking for time to dig into it:

Hopetown is a game from a couple of former ZA/UM developers, and you can see just from its art style that there's similarities. No date for this one yet, not much info except what's on their Kickstarter:

Then there's Tangerine Antarctic (formerly called XXX Nightshift):

Finally, there's Summer Eternal and their "Project Red Rooster." Good luck to them with whatever this is: https://summereternal.com/anthology

I have about 25 minutes to the beginning of Esoteric Ebb today, and I think it has a lot of promise. My PC isn’t really set up for gaming and I’m going to start sinking hours into baseball come next week, so this was more of a trial run, but I think anyone who liked DE should give this a shot. A little derivative with the mechanics (although with some added bits, such as spells since it’s a more D&D-like world) but the world seems fun.
