I get what Dead Man is going for, and the guitar tone is sufficiently mournful and empty, but I've never found the song engaging. It's almost too good at doing what it wants.

I think Hail Hail is overrated, but that doesn't mean it isn't still very good.

As brutal as the Dave A v. Dave A match-ups, this is going to be just as rough.

Dead Man succeeds at what it's trying to do but they've done it better with many other songs, though I still appreciate its haunting mood.

Hail Hail is fantastic. Everything PJ does so well on an excellent level, a catchy, unique riff and fantastic guitar interplay, different parts of the song interwoven perfectly, everyone doing something unique within their area yet sewn together into something wonderful.

All the while Eddie sings interesting lyrics, a love that's determined, passionate with the first signs of maturity. Jack has his own drum sound and carries the song forward, it rocks, it grooves and is an electric listen.

Hail Hail.

I don't think it would be in my top 5 but I absolutely understand why it would be in anyone else's. You can't argue that it's a monster track that's worthy of top 5 status.
