Well said and I guess to prove your point I didn’t pay attention to the real life reaction. Counter to that though is I had totally forgotten about that aspect of their relationship on screenLoathedVermin72 wrote:I think making fictionalized about real people who are still alive is already ethically dicey and needs to be handled carefully, and insinuating that Mark Schultz was having a homosexual relationship with his brother's murderer is pretty fucking cruel and unethical. Schultz himself has publicly condemned the movie and rightly so.Mecca wrote:Genuinely curious about what makes Foxcatcher evil and immoralLoathedVermin72 wrote:lol 8 1/2 wtf??? I don't really have a set bottom 10. Blade Runner 2049, Foxcatcher, Gone Girl, and Looking for Mr. Goodbar would probably be on it. I consider those latter three to be genuinely evil and immoral movies. Beyond that, I can't narrow it down to 10.

I watched The Black Hole last weekend. Man, what a trip. I know I saw it when I was young, but don't remember my reaction to it. Anyone else here see it/have thoughts about it?

If I ever did see it back in the day, I remember nothing about it. We did have a bunch of the toys including the ship. That was pretty rad. Because we didn’t really know who they were or what they were supposed to be, they were always part of the Empire against Luke and the Rebels when we would play.E.H. Been a long time. I remember it being pretty odd. No urgency at all with somewhat dodgy effects. Like a Disney Silent Running or something, but with headier sci-fi ideas. I'd be curious to revisit.

I have a pretty strong memory as a kid crying when a certain character sacrifices themselves in The Black Hole. I was quite the pussy.

My favorite part of Scream 4 is when Anthony Anderson gets stabbed in the forehead.

The Ninth Gate. Quirky at times, stupid at others, tonally uneven. Somewhat entertaining. 5.8/10

Re: What movies are you watching?
It was just an accident.
Maybe its about the first 30 min were the movie actually shows something ? Then it turns into something different, almost filmed theatre and the characters change so much it doesnt feel belivable anymore.

All The President Men.
Fuck yeah Alan Pakula knew how to shoot a movie. The use of split dioptric lens here is just exquisit.
Probably one of my favorite framing of all time.

Ex Machina for maybe the tenth time. Seems like it gets better every time. Probably because it's becoming more relevant with time. Time.
