Okay, so I know it's my show and I'm biased.... But truly, The Rocky Horror Show is one of the best things I've seen in a long time. My boss said it best, "Cabaret walked so this could run."

It's an absolute gem. This is one of the best shows I've ever worked on.

I already said, Dog Day sucked. It's honestly one of the worst plays I've ever seen.

There is zero tension. No stakes. They turned it into a doppy, slapstick comedy. There's no heart. The parts that should resonate the most, should feel like human empathy and connection, just feel mean.

Ebon is the only actor in the show doing good work and even he feels like he's in a totally different show from everyone else. Nothing is earned. It's all artificial and contrived and lifeless. But hey! At least they throw money at the audience!

What's funny is that... Yes? It actually is. But it's more like a parody of the movie. The beats aren't very different but the tone is.

How was Jon Bernthal?

He didn't work for me at all. And there's a scene in act two where his performance is borderline offensive. He's too big, too showy, and not at all charming in the way the character needs to be.

I'm not a performer, no. Once upon a time I thought I would be. That's what I studied most of my young life. But it became pretty clear after moving to NYC that it wasn't for me. I much prefer the other side.

That’s cool. Seeing my daughter do both sides in high school and college, I know there is just as much hard work behind the stage as there is on stage.

Is this happening a lot? Audience members with wildly different expectations, resulting in these sorts of clashes? Is there an effort to notify audience members of what to expect in terms of audience participation, or is that missing the point? Is the production encouraging of these interactions?
