Best 3 album run by any band/artist

Other than Pearl Jam, who else is there?

Good one. There's probably a really good 8 track playlist and that would be on there.
I just made a 45 song playlist.
Alright, I just revisited their catalogue and here are the tracks that I didn't skip. There are probably others that I could add to that but I was getting sick of them (and the quality dropped).
Spoiler: show
Supersonic
Live Forever
Slide Away
Don't Look Back
Morning Glory
Rockin Chair
Whatever
Half The World Away
It's Good To Be Free
Acquiesce
The Masterplan
Stand By Me
I have their first 2 albums plus maybe 5-6 of those albums singles.
I really like half the world away. I slipped it into my solo sets for a while a couple of years back.

The White Album is easily their most overrated album without an iota of a doubt

Mind you it is their most "American"-sounding in my opinion...

I've only heard The White Album once but I didn't like most of it at all.

Some new blood for this thread:

Old 97's: Too Far To Care > Fight Songs > Satellite Rides
Ryan Adams: Heartbreaker > Gold > Demolition
Ryan Adams & The Cardinals: Cold Roses > Jacksonville City Nights > Easy Tiger

I nearly put this one down but it would have been HB>Gold>48hrs. I can't hear Demolition as an album and not a compilation.
Now Whiskeytwon - Faithless St>Strangers>Pneumonia is a good run too.

Yep, great run there. Some of the best roadtrip music you could hope for - elbow outside an open window, a hot Aussie outback wind blowing against your face, wide open spaces all around, the occasional semi lurching into view.

I know they only had three albums, but it's still a pretty remarkable run...

LCD Soundsystem - Sound of Silver - This Is Happening

Good call. I think they decline in quality with each album, if only slightly. How do you rank 'em?

I personally think Sound of Silver is the best one, with This Is Happening close behind, and the self-titled one behind that. But I feel like they're all of high enough quality that I wouldn't find it strange to see someone rank them in any possible order.

Maybe I was just way more into music in the past. I haven't revisited them in a long while. Y'all in the know have spoken.

Totally agree with both of you. Sound of Silver is the best all the way through and has nothing I ever skip. This Is Happening has a song or two I'll skip. The first album is great but just a bit too long.

Sound of Silver is freaking brilliant all the way through.
