So it looks like the Zelda rumor to believe is a remake of Ocarina of Time coming this year. It'll be Nintendo's big holiday release. Scope of the project is unknown. I really hope for a from-the-ground-up remake akin to FF7 rather than simply OoT HD. Nintendo usually gives about 6 months notice so announcement in April or May?

I feel like it will be larger dungeons, quality of life fixes, and other little things more than removing anything.

And replacing 100 skultulas with 1000 Koroks, of course.

I’m fine with dedicating time and resources to put a classic game on a current console so new (younger) people can play it without hunting down an N64, but not at the expense of time and resources toward a new game.

I want the TOTK sequel. Or whatever concept comes next on a new Hyrule map. I want more.

I don't think it's at the time and expense of a new mainline game. Nintendo hasn't developed any remakes. I assume OoT is being developed by Grezzo or maybe Monolith. The mainline game is developed by Nintendo in-house, probably EPD, and hopefully with help from Monolith.

Plus I don't want a direct sequel. The map got boring. Gameplay style the same, sure. But maybe a whole new story. Also, when I played Echoes of Wisdom, it was so refreshing. Sure it was way simpler than TotK and BotW, but still had that Zelda feel. I'm kind of hoping for something completely different, especially if they do an OoT remake which will have some similarities to the BotW franchise for sure.

Per the director, an upcoming Zelda will incorporate some battle mechanics from Hyrule Warrions. Not sure if that will be incorporated in OoT or the next mainline game. That'll be different for sure.

OoT rumor has expanded to include a console. Not sure if it will be a bundle like Mario Kart World or a custom console like Tears of the Kingdom.
