Things are a lot better for my sister in law’s parents, after they escaped the occupied territories. Their house that they have lived in for decades, is still in occupied land, but they now live in the western part of the country, close to the border with Romania. Safest part of the country. They are in their 70s, and have had some health issues. They even visited us last year, but were adamant that they wanted to go back to Ukraine.

My sister in law and niece live in the same city as me (Oslo), and they prefer not to talk about the war anymore.

Last I heard, my sister in law’s brother as welll as a close family friend of theirs, are still soldiers at or near the front lines, and not dead.

Russian casualties just reached another grim milestone.

In June of this year, the Ukrainian General Staff reported in one of its daily updates on Russian losses that Moscow's casualties in Ukraine reached over one million personnel.

Watched the documentary 2000 Meters to Andriivka. Easily the best documentary of 2025. Shows the soldiers on the ground, in action.
