The Running Man (2025)

Well-made and energetic, but I never felt any real stakes. The tone and lead performance kept it from landing, and the social commentary felt obvious and kind of juvenile.

Straightforward:

Really enjoyed it—tense, well-acted, John Goodman is incredible. Just wish it stayed a pure psychological thriller. The ending didn’t feel earned and took it down a notch for me.

A little sharper:

90% of a great psychological thriller, then it pivots into something else entirely. Goodman carries it, but the ending feels unearned and undercuts what made it work.

More blunt:

Loved the bunker stuff—could’ve been a classic. The ending feels like a tacked-on genre shift that doesn’t match the rest of the movie.

More casual:

Super tense and engaging, Goodman is awesome. Just wish it didn’t go full sci-fi at the end—it felt kind of random and not really earned.
This post is both bizarre and creative.

this is correct. i was chatting with ChatGPT about the movie and i asked it to sum up my thoughts on it for the board, and this is what it gave me, and i thought it would be fun to just copy and paste it all. make no mistake though, these are my thoughts about the movie

I had a long in depth discussion with it about the movie and had it sum up my thoughts about it

What's sad to me is how judgemental you are about something you apparently know so little about.

We can get ai-sounding messes anywhere else on the internet, tree. We've all been reading your posts for decades and like them, no need to add a new layer of filter now

Give us the uncut stuff, we want pure tree

I wasn't even trying to hide it though. It Will actually improve our posts, better articulate what we are trying to say if only we use the tools freely at our disposal. It's a new age folks and it's time to embrace it

It's no different than singing with autotune or using a drum machine or synthesizers. As long as the human is there to dictate it and shape it the way it pleases him the product is still ultimately from the human. You're just attached to acoustic instruments

The "instrument" here is the part of your brain that turns a thought into a sentence, and that’s the part you outsourced. That’s why it sucks.

That’s ONE reason why it sucks. Among many others.

But I had to articulate my thoughts at length in order to get its summary of them correct.
