Rumor - the Zelda releasing in 2027 uses the Link's Awakening / Echoes of Wisdom engine. Developed by Grezzo. Gannondorf is likely playable.

Rumor - the next mainline Zelda is targeted for 2028 (lol). Same Hyrule as BotW and TotK. Will feature a "reality" mechanic that allows Link to switch dimensions in order to solve puzzles. Think Ratchet & Clank: A Rift Apart meets Zelda.

And, of course, OoT releasing this year.

Same Hyrule as Tears and Breath of the Wild would be pretty lame. I wonder if the leak got it wrong and it is just the same engine.

I haven't played Echoes of Wisdom but I like the cadence of alternating between 2D and 3D.

They should have Hyrule as a "safe zone", rebuilt and thriving, but all of the danger is in those lands we can see on the BotW map but not get to.

Also if they are going to do Switch 2 console promos with the OoT, they better start releasing some news about it soon.

They'll announce it sometime this summer.

Nintendo Direct rumored to be next week. Or the following week.

I wonder if remake will have the Light Temple since there won’t be memory constraints like there were with cartridges?

That's my #1 question too.

Every time I see a new post in the Video Games forum, I'm hoping it is one of you posting some gameplay of the new OoT. I'm relying on you all and my nephew to break the news to me, as I purposely don't follow any video game content on social media, otherwise my feed just becomes inundated with it.

Rumor is OoT is a "faithful" remake with a better map and waypoints.

They are working on a new game. Monolith, who's assisted with BotW and TotK, is doing the heavy lifting with OoT. Nintendo EPD is developing the new Zelda coming in 2028. Monolith will likely assist with the new mainline entry once OoT is complete. Grezzo is working on a top-down Zelda (like Link's Awakening or Echoes of Wisdom) with a playable Ganondorf coming in 2027.

IMO, Monolith is the most productive development company.

Hasbro toys. Coming May 2027. $100 for all three - that seems so expensive to me. Figures from different Zelda games will be coming soon too.
