So you would rather have solo Stone or Painted Shield than actual drummer news and new Pearl Jam music/tour?

There’s no choice here. PJs gonna fuck around. Might as well get some side work done while nothing happens.

I don't really care about Painted Shield, but I'd absolutely take a new Stone solo album over a new PJ album, especially one in the vein of Dark Matter.

Bayleaf and Moonlander are both wonderful albums -- my favorite side projects by some distance.

There should be a drinking game where we all take a sip every time Stone says "in terms of"—that's been his go to phrase since Single Video Theory.

OK interview. Mostly ground that's been covered before but interesting to hear that he never met Kurt Cobain just "saw him across the room". I'm not a Nirvana/Cobain fan so whatever. He also seemed very positive about new PJ music but of course no details.

Can't believe this guy didn't ask about the drummer situation—like hello you will need one of those for a new album and/or tour are you guys auditioning? Just nothing.

Maybe Stone told the interviewer that drummer questions were off the table.
Every sentence in my head, someone else has said.
