I'm certain I used a payphone a number of times when I was a kid but the only time I can specifically remember was when I called my mom collect from the ski mountain to ask her to pick me up and she was pissed because the plan was to pick me up in like an hour anyway. I made her pay for a phone call instead of just being patient for an hour. What a little a-hole I was! Kids suck!

Ugh now that kids have text messaging ability, they probably message to be picked up early from stuff all the time when they’re the slightest bit over it.

I remember being unable to sleep at a sleepover once, and I just stuck it out for hours scared shitless in the dark. Never occurred to me to bother my parents to come get me, I was IN IT.
