I disagree with him on just about every movie that's come out since 2007. So, nope!

I was already looking forward to Disclosure Day and his review only made me more excited.

Intense stretches of pure magic frequently interrupted by inane, over-expository monologues. I continue to dislike Kaminski’s cinematography. I wish the supporting cast were better. Stop. Scoring. Every. Second. Of. Runtime.

All of that said, I might be head-over-heels in love with Spielberg’s latest fairy tale.

I am a putrid cynic but I pretend not to be when I'm at the cinema, so I feel hopeful. Seeing this one tomorrow

Call me a putrid cynic if you want, but I disliked Disclosure Day rather definitively. Did not work for me at all, and it mostly leaves me with A)an intense desire to pick apart all the little bits that don't make sense or are discordant with even a cinematic reality; and B)a complete apathy about the movie which makes me not even want to do that, which is not helped by the fact that it seems to already be quickly fading out of my memory. I barely remember the thing two hours later

Not my movie, glad some of you liked it

so wait, if you're a cynic you won't like this movie? in what way specifically? seems like Argo has the ability to suspend his disbelief for a good film; if the movie convincingly plays by the rules of the universe it's created, ya know, if it's done well.

I don't think my favorable review of the movie is terribly objective. I've been consuming a lot of Spielberg lately, most notably via his recent appearances on Ringer Network podcasts, and am definitely glossing over some of the issues with the movie because of my love for his career contributions. There's a lot to criticize with this movie but I view it as his earnest attempt to portray humanity in a more positive light and daydream about how an event like this would actually go in reality. Especially juxtaposed with what's happening in the world right now, there's a hopefulness to it that I appreciated.
